Observability Metrics FAQ
How long are the metrics stored into the Observability instance provided by Retarus?
Metrics data is retained for 45 days.
In which format are the data provided?
Observability Metrics are exposed in the Prometheus exposition format—a text-based format for easy readability and parsing. Prometheus also supports the OpenMetrics format, which is an enhanced, text-based format based on Prometheus.
Are there any limitations set by Retarus on query complexity or time ranges?
Your Prometheus server can scrape the Retarus Observability platform at regular intervals to pull the latest metrics. The minimum allowed interval is 1 minute. Setting a lower interval will not provide fresher metrics.
How much data volume should I expect from Retarus' Observability Metrics instance?
The data volume depends on the configured scrape frequency. For each scrape, you can expect approximately 30–50 metric values per Transactional Email Technical Account. Since these metrics are already provided as aggregated counters and timers, the overall data volume remains minimal.
