Message Functions
Coding / Encording: SMS transmission is automatically coded in the preferred character set, which can be defined in the account settings. Supports GSM-7 (Standard) and UCS-2 (part of UTF-16) SMS coding.
Delivery Notification: status feedback via HTTPS push or email (e.g., delivery notification or status information from the Retarus system).
Message Splitting and Limits: support for concatenated SMS for sending and receiving longer text messages. Text messages consisting of more characters must be split up and sent as multiple concatenated SMS messages. Customers can set a maximum number of permitted message fragments. Each SMS can consist of up to 160 characters if GSM-7 coding is used and up to 70 characters if UCS-2 coding is used.
Sender ID: Customizable display of sender identification to the recipient of an SMS. Telephone numbers as well as alphanumeric Sender IDs are possible.
Smart Replacement: customizable replacement determination for SMS message coding which contain an invalid character under the GSM-7 character set. Options include: replacement with blank space, convert to UTF-16, deny job or smart replacement of similar character.

SMS Blocklist: automatic blocklists for opt-out communication. Numbers can be added to the blocklist manually in EAS or through ‘STOP’ keyword response.
Transmission Priorities: define transmission priority as default settings for all SMS jobs or individually set for each transmission request.
Two-way SMS: in order to support seamless two-way communication, a Long Code or Short Code should be used as Sender ID. Retarus can request or provide these on behalf of the customer in accordance with the applicable national legal and regulatory requirements.
