Delete groups and users

  • There may be times when a group or user needs to be deleted.

  • When required, Tenant admins can delete groups and users within User Management.

When a group or user is deleted, it is permanently deleted and cannot be retrieved. If deleted by mistake, the group or user will need to be recreated to regain access.

Delete a group

  1. Click the Settings icon on the main Retarus Fax Portal page.
    → The User management screen displays the list of available user groups.

  1. Scroll down and click to select the group name that needs to be deleted.
    → The group expands and displays the group name, group owner, and each of the members' names and their roles.

  1. Hover over the group name or group owner’s name.
    → The trashcan icon and edit options display.

  2. Click the Trashcan icon at the end of the line displaying the group name.
    → The Delete this user group window displays.
    → A warning message displays and lets the admin know that they’re about to delete a group and that this will cause the group and any of its users to lose access to all associated faxboxes.

Once this group is deleted, it is permanently deleted and cannot be retrieved. This group will be unassigned from all connected faxboxes. If there are any users in this group, they will no longer have access to it.

If you are sure this group should be deleted, to complete the deletion of this group:

  1. Click the Delete this group button.
    → The group deleted message displays at the bottom of the page and returns you to the User Management page.

Delete a user

  1. Click the Settings icon on the main Retarus Fax Portal page.
    → The User management screen displays the list of available user groups.

  1. Click the All roles and permissions dropdown arrow.
    →The All roles and permissions dropdown list displays all the available roles and permission groups.

  2. Click to select the User option in the All roles and permissions dropdown list.
    → A list of all the available groups containing members with the user role displays.

  1. Click the name of the group that contains the user that needs to be deleted.
    → The group expands and displays the group name, group owner, and each of the members' names and their roles.

  1. Click the Trashcan icon at the end of the line displaying the user that needs to be deleted.
    → The Delete this user window displays.
    → A warning message displays and lets the admin know that they’re about to delete a user and that this will cause the user to lose access to all associated faxboxes.

Once this user is deleted, it is permanently deleted and cannot be retrieved. This user will be deleted and will lose access to any assigned faxboxes. His/her name will be displayed as Former user.

If you are sure this user should be deleted, to complete the deletion of this user:

  1. Click the Delete this user button.
    → The user deleted message displays at the bottom of the page and returns you to the User Management page.
