Email Security Report (Digest)

The Email Security Report, also called the Digest, is sent to end users at regular intervals based on the configured company-wide or user-specific settings. It lists quarantined emails for the user’s primary email address and associated alias addresses. If no malicious or unwanted emails were blocked since the last report, no digest is sent.

The digest also includes a link to the online quarantine portal, where users can review blocked emails, release messages when permitted, and manage their personal Allowlist and Blocklist.

Company-wide digest settings

EAS (https://eas.retarus.com) - Administration - Email Services - Digest settings

Configure the default digest settings for your company. Changes made here apply to all domains and users unless more specific settings are configured at the domain or user level.

The Quarantine Digest Settings includes three tabs:

  • Settings configures the default customer-wide digest settings.

  • Domains shows all domains that belong to the selected customer and lets you manage domain-specific settings.

  • Users lets you view users for a selected domain and manage user-specific settings.

Customer-wide settings

On the Settings tab, you can configure:

  • Time zone for digest delivery times

  • Template used for the digest, including language and layout

  • Weekday delivery times

  • Weekend delivery times

You can define fixed delivery times separately for weekdays and weekends. If no weekend delivery time is selected, one digest is sent automatically on the weekend.

The selected template also controls the language of the digest and the format in cases where the digest is accessed on a mobile device.

📌 Quarantined emails are retained only for a limited time, regardless of the digest settings. By default, the retention period is 30 days, but Retarus can change it on request.

Domain settings

Use the Domains tab to view all domains assigned to the selected customer, including their current digest settings.

To configure digest settings for a specific domain, select the Settings icon image-20260402-092936.png for that domain. You can define domain-specific values for the same settings available at the customer level, such as time zone, template, and fixed delivery times.

To restore the default settings for one or more domains, select the domains in the list and then select Set default.

You can also open the user list for a domain from this tab by clicking the Users icon image-20260402-093126.png .

User settings

Use the Users tab to manage digest settings for individual users.

First, select a domain from the Domain list and then select Show. The page displays all users for that domain.

The table shows the active settings for each user. Default settings are displayed in italics. As with domain settings, you can restore inherited defaults for selected users.

User-specific settings allow you to override the inherited customer or domain configuration for individual recipients.
