E-Mail Security Service Check

Objective

The Email Security Service Check supports existing Retarus Email Advanced Security customers in validating their current implementation against operational best practices and current platform capabilities.

The service provides a structured framework to:

  • review access governance and administrative setup

  • assess the current SEP implementation and configuration

  • identify gaps between current configuration and best practice

  • evaluate utilization of available platform features

  • provide actionable recommendations for configuration optimization

The objective is to give customers a clear, factual view of their current security posture and a prioritized path to improvement — without the need for a formal project engagement.


Typical Customer Scenarios

The service is particularly suitable for customers with:

  • EAS deployments that have been in production for an extended period without structured review

  • upcoming internal or external audits, compliance assessments, or security reviews

  • recent organizational or personnel changes affecting administrative responsibilities

  • uncertainty about correct configuration or underutilization of available platform features

  • interest in validating their setup following platform updates or new feature releases


Scope of Services

Access & Governance Review The service includes:

  • review of current users, roles, and permission assignments in the EAS Portal

  • verification of support contacts and escalation paths

  • assessment of synchronised mailbox configuration and completeness

SEP Implementation Assessment Review of the active Email Advanced Security configuration, including:

  • policy structure and filter settings

  • quarantine configuration and management

  • allow- and blocklist setup

  • alignment with Retarus configuration best practices

Gap Analysis Structured assessment of the delta between current configuration and best practice, including:

  • identification of misconfigured or suboptimal settings

  • review of unused or underutilized security capabilities

  • prioritization of identified gaps by operational and security impact

Platform Features & Reporting Briefing Familiarization with current and new platform capabilities, including:

  • introduction to new service and portal functions relevant to the customer's environment

  • briefing on reporting capabilities and Live Search functionality

Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for providing:

  • a qualified EAS administrator as primary workshop participant

  • temporary portal access for the Retarus Professional Services consultant (read access sufficient)

  • participation of relevant IT Security or Compliance stakeholders where applicable

  • timely availability for the scheduled workshop session

Failure to provide portal access or qualified participation prior to the workshop may result in rescheduling.


Outcome

After completion of the Service Check, the customer receives:

  • a validated assessment of the current EAS implementation status

  • a documented gap analysis against Retarus configuration best practices

  • prioritized, actionable configuration recommendations

  • an overview of platform features and reporting capabilities relevant to their environment
