Outgoing IP addresses

Default configuration

By default, Transactional Email is set up to be sent using IPv6 addresses. If desired, a dedicated IP address can be ordered for one or more sender domains. This can be used to separate email traffic from different applications, to separate parent/subsidiary companies or to implement regional splits. The use of Dedicated IP is recommended from a volume of 1,000,000 emails per month. Since the Transactional Email Service is usually connected in a data center network (Active/Active), the use of Dedicated IP requires a minimum number of two dedicated IP addresses. When Dedicated IP addresses are set up, Retarus provides the customer with IP addresses for use for the duration of the contract. These are integrated into Retarus' blocklist monitoring system. An exchange of the IP address by Retarus is possible at any time.

Usage of IPv4 Addresses

Optionally, Retarus also offers IPv4 addresses. These addresses are particularly recommended if a dedicated IP address is absolutely necessary due to your business model.

The usage of IPv4-Addresses includes further service extensions with the following benefits:

  • The Certified Sender Alliance (CSA) allowlisting program

  • Feedback Loop Service via API or Email

  • Microsoft SNDS Program via SFTP or Email
